Social venture capital, a form of venture capital investing, provides capital to businesses deemed socially and environmentally responsible. These investments are intended to both provide financial return to investors and to provide market-based solutions to social and environmental issues.

While many SVC funds have a largely non-profit, socially oriented focus, many put weight on exit strategy, financial Return on Investment (ROI) and Social Return on Investment (SROI), which includes conducting greater due diligence into investments and supporting capacity building or technical training for portfolio company management.

This opens up a new, informed, and passionate world of investing that strategically moves more capital to good. But this logic and the social venture capital language is still rather unknown to many promising high-impact social enterprises and entrepreneurs that still lack the tools and guidance they need to succeed.

This one hour Webinar will bring leading experts together in an effort to translate the complexity of social venture capital conceptual frameworks and language and explore opportunities for the development of this emerging sector and for bridging the gap between investors and entrepreneurs for more effective collaboration.
